Find Flight, Hotel & Vacation Deals
Finding a good travel deal isn’t just about spotting the lowest price. I want to know what the entire trip is going to cost and whether I’m actually getting something worth booking.
Top Travel Deals brings together ways to save on flights, hotels, vacation rentals, rental cars, restaurants, and destinations so you can compare your options before spending your money.
Prices and availability can change quickly, so use the deals and guides here as a starting point. Always check the current price, what’s included, and the cancellation terms before you book.
Flight Deals
Airfare can be one of the biggest expenses of a trip, and prices can change from one day, or even one search, to the next.
The first thing I do is compare more than one option. If your travel dates are flexible, look at the days immediately before and after your preferred dates. Sometimes moving a trip by a day can make a significant difference.
Also compare nearby airports when it makes sense. A lower fare from another airport can be a great deal, but only after you include the extra driving, parking, hotel, or transportation costs.
Don’t forget about airline fees either. A very low advertised fare may become much less attractive after you add baggage, seat assignments, and other charges.
Our Flights page can help you compare airfare and learn more about finding a flight that works for both your schedule and your budget.
Hotel Savings
A good hotel deal is about more than the nightly room rate.
Before booking, look at the total cost of the stay. Resort fees, parking, breakfast, Wi-Fi, and other charges can change what you’re actually paying.
Location matters too. I would rather pay a little more for a hotel in the right location than save on the room and spend the difference on transportation every day.
It’s also worth comparing hotel-only prices with flight-and-hotel packages. Sometimes bundling can save money. Other times, booking everything separately gives you a better price or more flexibility. Don’t assume either option is automatically cheaper — compare both.

Vacation Rentals
Vacation rentals can be a great alternative to a traditional hotel, particularly for families, groups, and longer stays.
Having multiple bedrooms, a kitchen, laundry facilities, and more living space can make a big difference when you’re traveling with several people.
But don’t compare a vacation rental with a hotel based only on the advertised nightly rate. Look at the total. Cleaning fees, service fees, taxes, parking, deposits, and other charges can make the final price considerably higher than the first number you see.
Then think about what you’re getting for the money. A kitchen may help you spend less on restaurants. Free parking can matter in an expensive destination. Having a washer and dryer may mean packing less for a longer trip.
The better deal is the option that works best for your entire stay, not necessarily the one with the lowest nightly price.
Car Rental Deals
A rental car is another expense that’s easy to underestimate.
Compare the total rental price, not just the advertised daily rate. Taxes, airport fees, additional drivers, insurance options, fuel, tolls, and extras can all affect the final cost.
Vehicle size matters too. An economy car may be perfect for a couple, but it isn’t much of a bargain if you’re trying to fit several people, luggage, strollers, or car seats into it.
Airport pickup is convenient, but compare nearby rental locations when possible. An off-airport location may cost less, although the savings need to be enough to justify the extra transportation and time.
Visit our Car Rentals page to compare options and find the vehicle that makes sense for your trip.
Restaurant Deals & Dining Savings
Food can become a surprisingly large part of a vacation budget.
I don’t want to skip the restaurants I really want to try just to save money. Instead, I look for places where I can spend less on some meals and leave more in the budget for the meals that matter.
Happy hours, early dining menus, lunch specials, prix-fixe menus, kids-eat-free nights, restaurant rewards, and hotel dining credits can all help.
Our Restaurants page focuses specifically on restaurant deals and ways to spend less when eating out. If you’re more interested in finding good local food, deciding where to eat, and avoiding overpriced tourist spots, visit our Dining Guide.
Fresh Deals & Destination Ideas
Sometimes the best way to save is to compare the entire destination rather than one part of the trip.
A destination with a cheap flight isn’t necessarily a cheap vacation if hotels, rental cars, restaurants, and activities are expensive. That’s why I like looking at the bigger picture.
Top Travel Deals is continuing to add destination guides that bring together places to stay, things to do, restaurants, transportation, and ways to save.

How I Look at a Travel Deal
I don’t think something is a good deal simply because a website says it is. I look at what you’re actually getting for the money.
A $199 flight with inconvenient connections and expensive baggage fees may not beat a $249 nonstop flight. A cheaper hotel miles away from everything you want to do may cost more after transportation. And a vacation rental with a low nightly rate may not be inexpensive after all the fees are added.
The same idea applies throughout your trip. Compare the total cost, read what’s included, check the cancellation terms, and decide whether the savings are worth any trade-offs.
That’s how I want Top Travel Deals to help you shop for travel — not simply find something cheap, but find something that makes sense.
